Hume City Council are seeking a Qualitative & Inclusive Playgroups Project Officer to join Hume City Council_
- ** $93,328- $100,866 per annum (Band 6) pro rata plus Super depending on skills and experience**:

- ** Part-time Temporary position until 30 June 2024 (25 hours per week)**

**_ What is the role?_**

This role will commence 1 July 2023.

**_ Position Objectives:_**
- To build capacity and skills of Hume Community Hubs Supported Playgroup facilitators to deliver high quality playgroups through training and mentoring.
- To ensure Hume Community Hubs Supported Playgroups are inclusive and accessible and adhere to Council's Social Justice Charter goals, and Communities for Children (CFC) - Hume) Work Plan.
- To promote and support the participation of priority cohorts in supported playgroups.
- To foster peer to peer support and learning between Hume Community Hubs Supported Playgroups and Hume City Council playgroups through a Communities of Practice network.
- Participate in relevant networks to share information and resources to build sector capacity.

**_ About You:_**
- Demonstrated ability in working with staff in a setting relevant to this position, specifically with programs working with families with children 0-6 years.
- Understanding of theory and practice of early childhood development, health, education and special needs.
- Knowledge of and expertise in issues related to the needs of families and young children.
- Knowledge and expertise in working with diverse communities.
- Sound understanding of the purpose and function of playgroups and demonstrated knowledge of the various playgroup models including strength-based approaches and family centred practice.
- Understanding of the policies, regulations and precedents relevant to playgroup provision.
- Broad knowledge of specialist and mainstream services and a sound understanding of the issues facing vulnerable individuals and families.
- Demonstrated computer literacy.
- Tertiary qualifications in social science, early childhood development or social work with relevant experience.
- Relevant experience in working with staff on early-years programs for families and young children.
- Relevant experience working with a diverse community including multicultural families, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, LGTBQI+, Dads, people with a disability, migrant and refugee families.
