**_ What is the role?_**

Hume Libraries is a contemporary Library Service, located on the northern fringes of Melbourne. We currently have a vacancy available for a suitably qualified librarian to join the Hume Libraries team in the role of Team Leader Library Programs and Digital Literacy.

Based at the Broadmeadows Library you will contribute to the direction, development and delivery of innovative library, digital literacy and community technology programs across Hume Libraries.

To be successful in the role, you will have a firm understanding of the role libraries play in a community setting. You will lead, direct, motivate and develop staff of the community technology and library teams. You will need to develop and maintain effective working relationships internally and with external providers. You will have demonstrated successful people and team management experience to successfully gain this position.

The role is permanent full-time (35hrs per week) with regular evenings and weekends.

This position reports to and works strategically with the Coordinator Library Engagement & Partnerships, as well as being part of the Library Management Team.

**_ Position Objectives:_**
- To build capacity and skills of Hume Community Hubs Supported Playgroup facilitators to deliver high quality playgroups through training and mentoring.
- To ensure Hume Community Hubs Supported Playgroups are inclusive and accessible and adhere to Council's Social Justice Charter goals, and Communities for Children (CFC) - Hume) Work Plan.
- To promote and support the participation of priority cohorts in supported playgroups.
- To foster peer to peer support and learning between Hume Community Hubs Supported Playgroups and Hume City Council playgroups through a Communities of Practice network.
- Participate in relevant networks to share information and resources to build sector capacity.

**_ About You:_**
- Proficiency and sound STEAM, digital literacy and technical knowledge and skills in the development of innovative, contemporary, state-of-the-art library and community programs, including knowledge of the underlying principles of public library program development
- Knowledge of emerging technologies and their role in delivery of modern, state-of-the-art public library and community services
- Excellent skills in initiating, developing and maintaining collaborative relationships
- Tertiary qualifications that allow professional membership of the Australian Library and Information Association or significant equivalent experience
- A minimum of three years public library experience or team leader experience in a similar work environment
- Demonstrated interest in and knowledge of emerging technologies and digital literacy
- Relevant stakeholder management experience
- Demonstrated experience in establishing priorities, developing work plans and coordinating a team to achieve service objectives in a busy and evolving environment
- Demonstrated experience in the provision of public library services to Culturally and Linguistically Diverse communities
- Demonstrated experience in financial and resource management
- Ability to manipulate data and compile detailed reports
- Current driver's licence.
