**We are looking for a Playgroup Support Officer**
- ** $80,071 pro rata (Band 5A) Plus Super**:

- **Part Time Temporary Position (22.8 HPW, 12 Months)**

**The Opportunity**

We are looking for a Playgroup Support Officer who will be in charge of establishing and maintaining community playgroups within Hume City Council (HCC).

**_ This rewarding opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and innovative person to work as part the HCC Playgroups team to;_**
- Act as a key contact to community members looking to access a range of information about playgroups and other early years programs and events.
- Lead and actively participate child specific events throughout the year.
- Maintain online playgroup listing and create promotional materials through printed and social media.
- Hume City Council reserves the right to interview prior to closing date._

**About You**
- Knowledge of and expertise in issues related to the needs of families and young children.
- Demonstrated ability in working with families in a community setting, specifically children 0-6 years.
- Knowledge of different family dynamics, its impact on the child and families functioning.
- Understanding of the function of the position including relevant policies, regulations and precedents including National Quality Standards and the Victorian Early Years Learning and Development Framework and Child Safe Standards
- Demonstrated computer literacy.
- Knowledge of and expertise in working with CALD communities.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate playgroups and community events.
- Understanding of the function of the position including relevant policies, regulations, and precedents
- Experience in Community Development is highly desirable.

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in social science, early childhood services or social work
- Relevant experience in working with families and young children and facilitating parenting programs.
- Current driver's licence.
