**About us**
The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority, and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state.
The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 per cent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
**About the role**
- Lead and manage MCV's proactive and reactive media engagement ensuring critical priorities are met and related organisational risks are appropriately managed.
- Develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships with media organisations and representatives.
- Produce high quality written materials including effective media statements, responses to public comments and queries, crisis communication and speeches.
- Ensure a focus on continuous improvement or processes and practices to drive engagement effectiveness.
- Lead complex internal and external communications projects, and conceptualising solutions to communications problems.
- Provide high level support to, and act on behalf of, the Senior Manager Strategic Communications.
- Provide professional leadership, expertise, and guidance to motivate, develop capabilities, and build cohesion within the Strategic Communications team, ensuring clear objectives and performance measures, and promoting collaboration across the business.
- Build trusted relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including leading engagement with the Chief Magistrate, judiciary, CEO, executive management and senior stakeholders on business requirements, communication objectives, strategy and planning.
- Other duties as directed commensurate with role.
**About you**
- Previous experience and achievement as a Manager within a media and communications environment.
- Recent experience using strategic media and communications activity, demonstrated business or organisational outcomes.
- Ability to lead a diverse and complex team under high pressure situations.
- Knowledge of the Victorian Courts System is desirable.
