**ABOUT THE ROLE**
The Head of Regulatory Services is responsible for leading, coordinating and supporting council’s regulatory services programs. The position provides strategic direction and leadership to council’s Building, Plumbing, Environmental Health and Ranger services. The role also coordinates business planning, management strategies, service levels and is pivotal in leading and influencing the effective management of relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. The Head of Regulatory Services will provide expert advice and is the conduit on matters to address challenges associated with program areas.
Critical to this role is the ability to impact employee engagement and to be instrumental in creating a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
**ABOUT YOU**
You will have:
- Experience at an executive or senior management level with a demonstrable strategic management and community leadership focus.
- Tertiary and post-graduate qualifications in an appropriate discipline or relevant experience.
- Significant experience working within a regulatory / compliance environment.
- An understanding of the social, political, and legal framework of government in Tasmania.
**WHAT WE OFFER YOU**
We are offering a 5-year contract with an annual remuneration package circa $200,406, comprising base salary, 12.5% employer superannuation contribution and private use of a council vehicle. The final package will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
