About the Role...


As the Manager - Regulatory Services, you will take on a pivotal role of leading and developing the Regulatory Services Team of Community Inspectors and Administrators, fulfilling Council's legislative obligations and the day-to-day delivery of community compliance to contribute to uplifting and maintaining the safety of our community.


In addition you will:

  • Develop and implement compliance solutions that support our growing city, with a focus on education.
  • Provide expert advice and oversee compliance investigations regarding parking control, fire prevention, animal management and other relevant Acts, Regulations, Bylaws, Policies and Procedures.
  • Establish and monitor the work outcomes of the Regulatory Services Team including quality assurance and reporting.
  • Represent Council in all relevant Court jurisdictions.
  • Effectively and proactively manage and report the Regulatory Services team's annual budget allocation including forecasting and ensuring project milestones are achieved on time and within budget.

About You


Ideally, you will have qualifications in Leadership or Management, however if you have extensive experience in a similar role, we would love to hear from you.

You will also have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to display empathy and understanding when dealing with conflict resolution, negotiation and influencing, to provide positive Council and community outcomes.


You will also have:

  • Specialist knowledge of relevant Acts, Regulations, and practices in a regulatory or compliance area.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the WHS risks associated with compliance and regulatory enforcement activities.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilise highly developed analytical and creative problemsolving skills to work effectively in a constantly changing environment to meet deadlines and manage competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing financial budgets and forecasting.


Incumbents in this position may be required to possess or be willing to gain a National Criminal History Clearance and/or DCSI Working with Children Check.
