Applications are invited from suitably qualified and enthusiastic medical practitioners to join our team as a **Basic Physician Trainee (BPT1)** in the **Austin Health/Bendigo Health Regional Training Program for the 2024 Clinical Year (commencing February 2024).**

**Details of positions available and position requirements**

Our Basic Physician Trainee (BPT) positions for 2024 offer a practical, hands on approach to junior doctor training.

Bendigo Health in partnership with Austin Health have developed a regional BPT pathway that enables physician trainees to complete 1 ½ years of the three-year training program at Bendigo Health with the potential to progress to Advanced Training in a range of specialty areas at Bendigo Health.

We are committed to ensuring progression of our physician trainees and integration of training and education across the Central North West Consortium in preparation for the examinations.

All rotations are accredited by the RACP and are focused on optimising preparation for the written and clinical part of the FRACP examination in a supportive environment.

We have an extensive and structured physician education program which runs throughout the year providing a large range of experiences for professional development and RACP exam preparation

**To be successful in this role you must**:

- **Have a minimum of one-year post-graduate medical experience**:

- **Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) (note-eligible applicants will be guided through the process)**:

- **Be able to commit to a three-year contract as a Basic Physician Trainee**:

- **Demonstrate your interest in Regional Medicine and/or Bendigo Health and why you are looking to pursue a regional career.**
