**About our Unit**:
Financial Services at UNSW Canberra manages all aspects of financial services and financial processing for UNSW Canberra. This includes, but is not limited to, budgeting, reporting, procurement, travel, expense management, billing, and accounts receivable. The team has a busy work environment with a high volume of requests from stakeholders.

**About the Role**:
**Role**: Finance Officer, UNSW Canberra
**Salary**: Level 4/5 $71,629 - $88,407 plus 17% Superannuation
**Employment type**:Full time, 35hrs
**Term**: Fixed term for a period up to 6 months

**Location**:Canberra, Australian Capital Territory

Under the direction of the Senior Finance Officer, the Finance Officer position provides administrative support and assistance to UNSW Canberra staff and external customers, and acts as the first point of contact for financial services enquiries. In addition, the Position will contribute to the establishment, maintenance and improvement of systems and processes used by the Financial Services team to ensure the efficient and effective operation and service of Financial Services at UNSW Canberra.
- completion of an associate diploma level qualification with relevant work experience, OR
- completion of certificate level qualification with post certificate relevant work experience, OR
- an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or experience.
- experience in processing financial transactions using computerised financial packages, and proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- high level interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with staff at varying levels of authority and external parties.
- the ability to work in a team and build effective relationships with colleagues and clients.
- demonstrated knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant health and safety training.

Level 5
In addition to Level 4 above:

- demonstrated relevant administrative and/ or financial services experience, including previous experience processing both simple and complex financial transactions using computerised financial packages.
- demonstrated ability to establish priorities and manage complex tasks.
- highly developed organisational skills and proven ability to work with strict deadlines in a busy and varied office environment.
