**Why Your Role Matters**:
The Academy Library is a university library supporting the academic activities of UNSW Canberra through the provision of engaging physical and virtual library learning environments and delivery of specialist services to a diverse clientele. The Academy Library works as ‘one library’ with UNSW Sydney Library.

Library Services Officers participate in the operations of the Library’s Service Desk as one of their core responsibilities and contribute to UNSW Canberra’s learning, teaching and research goals through provision of excellent library services and support, effective access to resources and high-quality maintenance of collections, facilities and equipment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide high-quality client service through efficient and effective operation of the Library’s Service Desk, performing duties
- Support client requests, collection services, and access provision through tasks
- Undertake re-shelving of returned materials, shelf-reading and tidying and other relevant collection maintenance tasks.
- Contribute to the provision of client and collection services, resources and access by performing the key duties in one or more of the following support functions - client service provision, document supply, access support including course readings delivery, online/virtual services support, acquisitions/procurement, resource/collection access and maintenance.
- Respond to enquiries (in-person, telephone and written), initiate action, and refer as appropriate.
- Assisting with library activities and promotion though such activities as maintaining physical and digital displays, web maintenance, collection showcasing.
- Monitor and contribute to local procedures and use of library systems and software.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues in project teams as required.

The position involves working rostered hours within the 8.30am - 5.15pm, Monday to Friday timeframe, as well as, a willingness to undertake a wide range of duties as required.
