- Nyrstar Hobart currently has vacancy for the position of Wharf Operations Team Leader. This challenging role is seen as an opportunity for career development and to make a positive contribution to Nyrstar Hobart. The position reports to the Wharf Operations Superintendent and is a key position within Wharf Operations. This role is a 4 days on 4 days off work roster.- The purpose of this position is to lead the day to day activities within the Blending / Backhus, Transport and PG mixing teams to ensure effective performance of the operations team by managing safety and environmental performance; production targets; people performance and development; and stakeholder expectations in line with Nyrstar’s strategy, policies and procedures.**About the Company**:

- Ensure the team understands and follows policies and procedures.
- Lead the effective day-to-day performance and work activities of the team.
- Building strong customer focus between maintenance and operating departments.
- Contributing to the management of the department.
- Maintain a safe and compliant workplace with a focus on continuous improvement
- Maximise quality and production outcomes
- Foster a high performance culture through guidance, training and support
- Effectively communicate site objectives, targets and initiatives to the team
- Manage resource utilisation, including leave management and the use of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), to monitor the delivery of stakeholder requirements
- Lead a conscientious approach to cost management
- Contribute to the ongoing improvement of employee engagement

**Requirements the successful applicant will need to fill the position are**:

- Demonstrated capability in leading and managing a diverse team, with a focus on driving a positive team, department, and company culture.
- Advanced computer skills, in particular experience using the Microsoft Office suite and SAP
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence and network with a variety of personnel
- A proven commitment to high safety standards and a track record of advocating for safe behaviour
- Proven ability to work effectively with mínimal supervision Excellent time management and prioritisation skills
