Manager, Payroll Operations

If you enjoy a high paced, customer-centric environment and can lead a team of payroll specialists in day to day transactional payroll services as well as providing strategic direction on specialized projects, then this role is designed for you. At DEECA we offer a flexible work environment, with hybrid workplace/ work from home arrangements already in place. Your team is based in Lonsdale St in Melbourne, with the expectation that you will also be based with them as part of your hybrid workplan.
We're looking for an exceptional people manager, someone who brings a strategic approach to efficient, accurate and timely payroll management but can also create an environment for people to perform at their best. In People and Culture Operations we have a pro-active culture, providing advice, policy guidance and support on all aspects of the employee lifecycle including talent attraction, retention, reward and development. We want you to be excited about the prospect of leading an important function at the centre of a large department, with an attention to detail to ensure efficient payroll delivery.

Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- Detailed knowledge of relevant employment, super and tax legislation is required.
- Demonstrated experience in responding to internal and external audits eg. VAGO/SRO/ATO audits.
- Experience with SAP payroll systems, including system payroll testing.
This is an ongoing position. The work location for this position is 2 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne with hybrid work arrangements available.
