**About the role**

Water Corporation is an organisation with a proud 120 year plus history of overcoming challenges to ensure the delivery of quality water services to the people of WA. To continue this tradition for the next 120 years, the Corporation must continue to adapt and change to address the many emerging issues facing the water industry and embrace the new opportunities open to it.

Our Assets Planning and Delivery Group (APDG) is the centre of expertise in the business for asset management, engineering and construction, they are responsible for developing and delivering investment plans that balance cost, risk and level of services to our customers. They are also the primary link to the development industry and enable development across the state.

Leading our newly created Future Water Solutions Business Unit within APDG, you’ll play a big part in providing guidance to identify and address emergent risks, well before they impact, threatening the sustainable delivery of water services. You will utilise your knowledge and expertise to identify opportunities and develop value from new and emerging trends, technologies, and practices within the water industry.

You will work closely with other departments and internal and external stakeholders to ensure the delivery of strategic outcomes across the organisation for now and into the future.

**What the role will involve**:

- Develop understanding of the worldwide water industry, community and regulatory environment and identify and assess long-term emerging risks to the provision of water services.
- Develop delivering robust, environmentally and financially sustainable plans strategies to address emerging risks and leverage opportunities via the delivery of new or adapted water services.
- Develop long term master plans to provide input into the Corporation’s 20 year Asset Management Strategy and provide direction to short to medium term Asset Planning
- Trial new initiatives and solutions to determine their viability and understand requirements for successful operationalisation

**Key Skills and experience**:

- Degree qualified in engineering, technology, innovation, or similar related discipline
- Proactive and positive mindset with the ability to influence and drive latest thinking and continuous improvement initiatives
- Demonstrated passion and knowledge about emerging trends facing the water industry.
- Demonstrated experience in the successful delivery of innovative solutions to transform a business.
- Experience in customer, stakeholder and regulator management.
- Experience in leading, motivating and developing effective teams to drive and achieve improved outcomes
- Strategic mindset, understanding and approach, who can look at problems from any angle to find the best community, commercial and environmental outcome.
- High levels of personal responsibility and accountability with strong focus on results delivery
