**Position Information**:
The Jannali High School (TJHS) is a 7-12 comprehensive coeducational school situated in the heart of the leafy Sutherland Shire. TJHS is a proud and active member of the Heart of the Shire Community of Schools (HOTSCOS). TJHS currently has 1050 students of which 30 students are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander. Our school has a strong tradition in focusing on the development of the whole child with extremely dedicated and experienced staff who deliver quality teaching and learning programs to support this. All programs are underpinned by our school's CARE Values and Expectations of COOPERATE - ACHIEVE - RESPECT - ENGAGE.
TJHS has a strong tradition of academic achievement and outstanding programs to support student wellbeing with a focus on student voice and leadership. Our school also operates a wide range of extracurricular activities so that students can connect, thrive and succeed in a supportive learning environment. These include extensive sporting, Creative and Performing Arts (CAPA), environmental and civics/leadership opportunities. We have a future focused learning approach that prepares our students for the world beyond the classroom. Our BYODiPad Program enhances student learning outcomes through the explicit teaching of the futures learning skills: Creativity; Collaboration; Critical Thinking and Communication. Student and staff wellbeing are a priority for our school and therefore we support the performance development of all members of our school community. We focus on supporting students through key transition points in their high school career to build capacity and support their pathways after school. An effective Teacher Induction Programs supports new and beginning staff transition into TJHS and relevant professional learning builds capacity of all and develops our aspiring leaders.

Knowledge and understanding of curriculum reform requirements within Creative and Performing Arts in support of teacher performance and development to strengthen HSC success for all students.
Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and inspire quality classroom practice through a culture of high expectations and collaboration with a focus on literacy, numeracy and formative assessment within a futures focused learning environment.
Demonstrated ability to differentiate teaching and learning programs to cater to diverse student needs including high potential and gifted students, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students and, students from a language background other than English.
Demonstrated capacity to be a highly effective and collaborative member of the school executive team by initiating and leading programs that address whole school strategic directions.**
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies
