**Position Information**:
Hoxton Park High School is a coeducational comprehensive school with an enrolment of 840 students with 82% from a non-English speaking background. The school community has high expectations for student academic performance that is supported through quality teaching. The school caters for all students through a broad range of academic courses, vocational education (VET), school based apprenticeships and training (SBAT) and TAFE courses. Gifted and talented students are catered for within the Self Select class program and the provision of a differentiated curriculum. We are part of the Australian Business and Community Network with strong links with the business community and Universities. Hoxton Park High School is part of the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL) program embodied in the Hoxton Honour Code.
**Selection Criteria**:
Applicants must satisfy the teacher training and academic qualification requirements for this position. In addition to the general selection criteria,
- Demonstrated success in teaching English (7 -12) with the ability to inspire the potential of all students.
- Demonstrated capacity to effectively lead staff through curriculum reform to successfully embed high-quality teaching, learning and assessment practices resulting in improved student outcomes.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team with diverse teaching experience, demonstrating capacity to collaboratively engage and motivate teachers to improve their professional knowledge and practice.
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills with a proven capacity to dynamically work as a productive member of the executive team to lead, manage, and analyse data to implement whole-school improvement processes that support the school’s strategic directions.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs
3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams
4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents
5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning
6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policy
