**About the role**

Ventia’s contract with the Department of Justice have an exciting opportunity for an experienced** Training and Development Manager** to join our team in Western Australia in their Canning Vale office. Whilst this role is based locally, training is also conducted at other venues around the Perth Metro area and other Intrastate sites, across Western Australia.

In this role you will be responsible for the coordination and oversight for all training delivery resources in line with the processes of Ventia Training. You will also ensure compliance with legal, contractual requirements and ensure programs are delivered to a high standard and are a positive experience for all participants.

**Your duties will include but are not limited to**:

- Coordinate the selection, hire, onboarding and induction of trainers
- Coordinate and supervise trainers and schedule stakeholder workplace assessments
- Coordinate learning through a variety of face to face and distance training methodologies
- Contribute to the development of Training Strategies to improve the quality, consistency and compliance of workforce learning and development
- Deliver and oversee refresher training and managing induction training for new employees
- Deliver and oversee the use of high-quality training and assessment materials that provide the best balance between student need and compliance requirements
- Maintain the training matrix for the contract, identify gaps in training for employees and work efficiently to close those gaps
- Develop a training plan that addresses the needs identified
- Ensure proof of attendance records are recorded and submitted for storing for all training
- Ensure feedback from the training is reviewed, quality assurance checks are completed, and at-risk students are engaged by the trainers
- Monitor learning and capability compliance levels and training program effectiveness through regular reporting
- Monthly reporting for SMT distribution
- Review Trainer capability and deliver performance against requirements
- Work closely with and maintain relationships with external providers and Ventia RTO
- Conduct audit activities on training and compliance requirements, fostering a culture of continuous improvement

**Skills and experience**:

- Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or equivalent qualification
- Demonstrated experience in training positions
- Corrective Services experience
- Knowledge of adult instructional and learning theory and ideologies of instructional design, training methodologies, learning management systems and capability assessment
- Experience in supervision and development of staff and resources
- Strong communicator with an ability to coach and develop others
- High level of drive and commitment
- Ability to operate in a fast-paced contract delivery environment
- Self-starter who drives performance and continuous improvement in all aspects of their work
- Ability to demonstrate a high level of professionalism, integrity and interpersonal skills
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines
- Ability to examine and present data

**Other special conditions**

The incumbent to this position must have full Australian Work Rights and have the ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Federal Police Check, in order to be eligible for this position.
