**Aboriginal Engagement and Regulatory Practice Advisor**

NSW Department of Education has an exciting opportunity for a skilled and experienced individual to join the early childhood education and care Quality Assurance and Regulatory Services team as an Aboriginal Engagement and Regulatory Practice Advisor.

**About the role**

This is a newly created role and sits within the Quality Assurance and Regulatory Services team, where you will have the opportunity to work closely with operational staff to guide culturally responsive regulation. This role will have a key focus on providing advice and support while working across various teams within the Quality Assurance and Regulatory Services and Statewide Operations Network to support a risk-based and culturally responsive approach to ensuring safe and high-quality education and care environments for children.

**About you**

- Sound communication skills, coupled with a strong understanding of cultural context, and the ability to adapt to a variety of audiences.
- A demonstrated capacity to self-manage, including being able to work effectively with other disciplines in a multi-disciplinary team and deliver quality work to meet deadlines.
- Contribute to the continuous process improvement of the team
- Ability to work in an autonomy environment and take ownership of their work.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

**Essential requirements of the role**
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education
- A valid Working with Children Check for paid employment.
