- 1 X temporary, full-time role up to 18 months with the possibility of extension
- _We are also seeking to create a recruitment pool for upcoming Communication and Engagement Officers, including roles with a digital/web focus. A talent pool may be created through this recruitment process. A talent pool is a group of applicants who have been assessed and identified as suitable for this role, and who may be considered for a range of similar roles, including temporary, term or ongoing roles, over the next 18 months_.
- $101,947 to $112,849 plus super & annual leave loading
- We have flexible work agreements in place that allow you to work from home and from offices across NSW. Our team’s central office is Parramatta.
**About the Department of Education***
The Department of Education is the largest provider of public education in Australia with responsibility for delivering high-quality public education to two-thirds of the NSW student population. The department has a strong and growing focus on Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) and 2 areas dedicated to this important work - the Early Childhood Outcomes (ECO) division and the Quality Assurance and Regulatory Services (QARS) Directorate. Both ECO and QARS are supported by a dedicated ECEC communications and engagement team.

**About the role**
You will be supporting the development and delivery of communication initiatives focusing on engaging families across NSW and the early childhood education sector stakeholders and internal stakeholders across the Department. You will be responsible for:
- Conducting research to support communication and engagement strategies, processes, and protocols
- Driving the implementation of strategies
- Developing content for use across a range of channels
- Providing technical expertise on the design of print and digital resources
- Understanding user requirements to identify and develop communication solutions

**Essential requirements of the role**
- A valid Working with Children Check Clearance
**Key knowledge and experience**
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.

- Experience in driving communication initiatives in a large organisation
- Ability to deliver high-quality work and manage completing priorities
- Work collaboratively with various stakeholders and have excellent communication skills
- Knowledge on early childhood education policy and regulatory frameworks
