**Position Overview**:
As the AVITH Practice Lead, you will play a crucial role in providing a whole-of-family response when young people cause harm or use violence in their homes, taking into account that many of these young people are also victims of family violence. You will work collaboratively with Multicultural AVITH family practitioners and CMY AVITH Multicultural Youth workers, ensuring that the support provided is responsive and integrated.

**Direct Service to Multicultural/Multifaith Young People and Their Families**:

- Provide a therapeutic, trauma-informed model informed by whole-of-family practice, including integrated service response, case management, and whole-of-family plans.
- Offer individual, family, risk, and safety assessments, case planning, therapeutic case management, counseling, and relevant interventions.
- Oversee initial risk and safety screening and intensive case management for higher-risk cases.
- Provide supervision to AVITH Youth Family Violence Specialists and Multicultural AVITH practitioners.
- Liaise with internal and external services to strengthen services for young people and their families.

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- Minimum Degree level qualification in social work, welfare, community development, or equivalent.
- Highly skilled and experienced family violence practitioner and practice lead across work with perpetrators and victim-survivors.
- Demonstrated understanding of gendered and intersectional analysis of family and intimate partner violence.

- Family-aware and inclusive practice while holding risk and safety as paramount.
- Ability to supervise staff within an integrated service approach.
- Quality administrative experience.
- Ability to handle pressured situations with resourcefulness, adaptability, and creative thinking.

**Position Dimensions**:

- Full-time position.
- Supervising up to 5 staff.
- Fixed-term.
- The role will be based at the Carlton and Wyndham DS office, with travel to partner organization sites and expected outreach services.
- This role requires a capacity to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasionally on weekends.
