**About the role**:
An exciting opportunity has become available for a **HSE Officer** to join our Knauf team based in **Port Melbourne, Victoria**. Knauf provides high quality internal linings, related products, and systems for residential and commercial construction, and is seeking a responsible and organised individual with some experience in the health & safety field who has exposure in a highly unionised environment.

Reporting to the National Health Safety and Environment Manager, you will be responsible for supporting the HSE Manager and managing the monthly HS&E compliance for the Port Melbourne manufacturing plant.

**To be successful in this role, you will**:

- Providing support to all key site leaders through actioning monitoring plans, identifying hazards and closing hazards
- Attend and minute the safety committee meetings
- Provide administrative reporting support to the HSE Manager
- Assist In Annual audits and site visits
- Assist in facilitating tool box meetings
- Assist with coordinating Injury Management, and the RTW programs
- Prepare the HSE report Monthly
- Conduct site audits, risk assessment and hazard identification activities
- Identify additional training needs and assist in the delivery of these with the site training manager
- Ensure the compliance of the on site contractors in line with the maintenance department
- Maintaining and updating office records of WHS Documents
- Provide support to the site HSE Manager
- Ensure corrective actions are in place and maintain site communication methods

**We are looking for people who**:

- Minimum Cert. IV in OH&S
- 1-2years experience in a HSE role within similar industry
- Sound understanding of latest OH&S legislation
- Ability to work in a fast paced environment and manage deadlines
- Ability to think ahead with own initiatives
- Excellent communication skills and problem solving
- Comfortable working in a blue-collar manufacturing environment with union activity
- Be passionate about learning new skills for career development opportunities
