About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Field Delivery, this is a pivotal role within the Service Delivery Portfolio. As the Manager of Delivery you will be responsible for: Leading our field delivery teams in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of maintenance programs and minor capital projects, using internal and external resource across built and natural assets, across a large geographically dispersed field team in the Northwest of Melbourne.
- Leading the Field Delivery team culture with a large geographically dispersed team of over 20 employees) and ensure effective communications within and across the team. Communicate and capture the benefits of a diverse and inclusive work environment.
- Ensuring the safety of staff and engaged Service Providers, through proactive and effective safety leadership, hazard identification and reduction, and continuous improvement.
- Planning and managing the efficient deployment, utilisation, acquisition and renewal of operational resources, including plant and equipment.
- Manage and participate in incident response, which may include participating in 'out of hours' incident management and rosters. This includes coordinating the response to emergencies and incidents on behalf of Melbourne Water.
- Help to foster a culture of Health, Safety & Wellbeing.
- A valid Driver’s Licence is required as this role requires frequent travel.

About you:

- You have extensive leadership and management skills, including experience in managing and leading direct reports and large field-based teams.
- You are a passionate and proactive safety leader with a personal commitment to injury prevention and improving Health and Safety procedures, policies and plans.
- Extensive skills and experience in the delivery of field-based maintenance and minor capital projects including a varied understanding of alternative project delivery models.
- Ability to build highly effective strategic relationships with external stakeholders, traditional owner groups, service providers and the community to support the delivery of Melbourne Water strategies and complex programs of work.
- Demonstrated ability and qualifications to take a leading role in initiating responses to emergency activities.
- An understanding of project and program governance (engagement and approval processes), probity and confidentiality requirements.

This is a full-time role based from Brooklyn Pumping Station. The role requires regular travel to other Melbourne Water locations and field sites within the Northwest of Greater Melbourne. The role will be allocated an operational work vehicle.

The Security of Critical Infrastructure (SoCI) Act 2018 requires Melbourne Water, as an operator of critical infrastructure, to prepare a Critical Infrastructure Risk Management Program (CIRMP), which has been undertaken and managed by the Security and Emergency Management Team.

Melbourne Water are required to assess roles across Melbourne Water to determine what roles are critical under the Act. All employees working in a role deemed SOCI critical will require additional ground checks via AusCheck. This role is deemed critical and the preferred applicant will be asked to undertake an AusCheck.
