THE ROLE
This role is part of the Voice of lived experience on recruitment panels pilot initiative. The pilot is happening in the metropolitan areas of the West Division and North Division, within the Community Operations and Practice Leadership Division of the Department of Families, Fairness and Housing (the department or DFFH).

The pilot aims to bring the voice of renters to the department's recruitment process. It also aims to demonstrate the department's commitment to client voice. Renters have expressed their desire and demonstrated the benefit of having their voices heard and ideas acted on. This is just one of a number of ways Homes Victoria and the Department of Families Fairness and Housing (the department) are focusing on renter voice.

Lived experience is the knowledge, expertise, insights, experiences and outcomes of people, families, and caregivers with previous or current involvement with the community services system. This system includes services provided by:

- the department, such as child protection or housing
- community services organisations

Lived experience is shaped by a person's unique knowledge and intersections of personal attributes such as race, gender and disability.

To succeed in this role, you will
- have a passion for improving how the department delivers housing services
- have a genuine interest in renter participation and voice in the department's work
- be ready to translate your lived experience of public housing or being a renter withm Aboriginal Housing Victoria into advice
- be able to cooperate, show concern and respect when working with others
- have a genuine interest in renter participation and voice in the department's work

- taking notes
- assessing responses
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- multicultural, multilingual and multifaith people
- people from refugee backgrounds and people seeking asylum
- people with disability
- women and people of diverse genders

COVID-19 VACCINATIONThe department strongly recommends (but does not mandate) that employees maintain their COVID-19 vaccination status in accordance with current ATAGI (Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation) advice, given their individual circumstances. As of June 2023, DFFH does not require evidence of COVID-19 vaccination status.
