Victoria University (VU) Polytechnic is the vocational education (TAFE) division of Victoria University which offers job-ready qualifications, upskilling and reskilling for existing workers, pathways to further studies, workforce development, and exposure to real-life work skills.


VU Polytechnic is seeking a College Recruiter and Project Officer to provide efficient and effective recruitment support to senior managers within VU Polytechnic, as well as the delivery of high-quality administrative and project services across the College.


About the Role:


You will support and advise senior managers on how to navigate and problem-solve current VU systems and processes relating to the recruitment and appointment of VU Polytechnic Staff.

The position will also be expected to be involved in the continuous improvement and strengthening of current administrative processes and systems.


This is a full-time fixed term role for 12 months at the HEP 6 classification, salary range is $82,372 per annum - $89,161 per annum plus 17% superannuation, working 38 hours per week.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Support senior managers with navigating the internal systems and resolving issues that may arise.
  • Identify training needs for senior managers and administrative staff.
  • Provide highlevel administrative support to projects and activities, responding to various requests and undertaking specific informationgathering activities to ensure that the administrative needs of the projects and activities are met.
  • Provide factual and accurate information to internal and external stakeholders.

About You:

You will have:
- the ability to display initiative and exercise judgment in the provision of high-level administrative services to support the achievement of work area goals.
- well-developed interpersonal, written and communication skills.
- the ability to priorities tasks and song problem-solving skills to resolve issues and provide advice.
- experience in the use of project management tools and documents.
