Lithgow City Council has an exciting opportunity for a goal oriented and innovative professional to lead the efficient and contemporary delivery of our broad range of planning services, while ensuring that this critical function maintains the professional capacity and ability to support the future direction of our changing LGA.

Lithgow is a central location for a regional lifestyle and great outdoor recreational activities, and is also only a few hours drive from Sydney. Lithgow lies adjacent to the new Gardens of Stone State Conservation Area and Greater Blue Mountains World Heritage Area, while being less than 30 minutes drive to Blackheath in the Blue Mountains, and 45 minutes drive to Bathurst.

In the role of Development Manage you will lead our planning teams that deliver Strategic Land Use, Building Development and Development Planning across both urban and rural areas. Your teams will have a mix of experienced staff as well as new team members that are in the differing stages of their planning careers, and you will have a focus on building their capability and assist in their professional development.

As the Development Manager you will be responsible for providing Council with specialist and technical expertise with regard to the extensive range of Council planning services and legislative requirements. You will have a strong commitment to leading by example and maintaining a strong customer service focus across your teams, along with a commitment to genuine stakeholder engagement.
