For over a decade, Azuma restaurant has been repeatedly recognised and awarded for its outstanding food, eclectic beverage selection curated by our proud master sommelier, and consistently friendly and knowledgeable service. We proudly celebrated our 28th anniversary this year.

At the end of 2023, we farewelled our cherished home location in Chifley Tower after twenty-one remarkable years due to the Tower’s redevelopment project. Reflecting on the past years, we are filled with gratitude for the kindness and unwavering support we've received from our loyal customers. We are now in the final process of relocating to new premises in Sydney CBD and are looking for additional staff to help us build another world-class Azuma.

**About the Role**

**Key responsibilities**:

- Manage bookings, functions, special events and catering services with high attention to detail. Overseeing reservations and building relationships with regular guests is a key component of this role;
- Reception duties and customer service support when needed, always with a professional manner;
- Maintain EDM, Social media, and internet content, e-commerce content, and manage responses to online comments and enquiries;
- Work closely with our management team, kitchen staff, and service staff to support their needs;
- Communicate with designers, PR agents, centre management, media, and advertisers as a representative of the company;
- Developing, editing, and formatting publications in both English and Japanese;
- Contact technicians to arrange regular maintenance and repair works, purchase goods, check stock levels, order supplies, and maintain and update office records;
- Maintain our customer database, internal systems, and operating manuals;
**Key qualities**:

- Maintain high quality customer service standards. Uphold the highest standards of professionalism and hospitality at all times.
- Excellent communication, organisational skills and high attention to detail.
- Strong computer skills including advanced Microsoft Office. Preferred: Now Book It experience, WordPress, Wix and Stripe.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, multi-functional team environment
- Self-motivated team player with demonstrated interpersonal skills.
- Formal education in Business, Marketing or Hospitality is an advantage.
- A minimum of 2-year experience in professional hospitality or a similar role. Training will be provided.
- Ability to quickly ascertain customers' needs and provide them with appropriate assistance.
- Sincere attitude to resolving customer concerns.
- Friendly and positive disposition.
- a solid knowledge of Japanese food, beverages, and wine is an advantage.
- current valid RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) qualification and Australian working rights.
- An understanding of, and/or willingness to learn about a wide range of Japanese culture and history.
- Professional Japanese language skills are an advantage but not essential
