About the role
The Ipswich Emergency Department is recognised as one of the busiest emergency departments in Queensland, seeing 67,000 presentations per year with 25% of the presentations being recognised as paediatric. The case mix within the department is ever changing. The population growth within the Ipswich region is predicted to increase by 113% in the next 10 years. The Ipswich Hospital emergency department provides opportunity for emergency registered nurses to care for patients ranging from neonatal to geriatrics. Provide and maintain a highly responsive and effective administrative support and customer service function to the 24 hour Emergency Department Reception. Contribute to patient flow by performing a support role to nursing and medical staff in the department.

- Technical Knowledge
- High level of analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of basic medical terminology to extract and interpret pertinent information from patient medical records and hospital information systems

**Mandatory Requirements**:

- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
- Vaccinated against COVID-19 as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO.12/21and the Queensland Health Human Resources Policy B70.
