IT Security Operations Officer

We are looking for IT Security Operations Officer (Governance Risk and Compliance) in Canberra locations.
**Initial Term: 12 Months**
**Extension Options: 2 x 12 months**
**Qualifications**
The GRC Officer will have a minimum of fifteen years’ experience in the IT Security industry with a minimum five years’ experience in either a technical or architecture role, and two years’ experience in a Defence or Intelligence context. The GRC Officer will have a minimum active personnel security clearance of NV1. An active PV or willingness to go through the process is preferred.
**Required Skills**:
- AWS components - Security Hub, Config Manager, Cloudtrail, Incident Manager, Trusted Advisor, Inspector, Detective and Guard duty
- Splunk based indexing and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) functionality.
- Security Tools, Airlock Digital, Prisma Cloud, Deep Security Manager (DSM)
- Palo Alto Firewalls, including Panorama
- Keycloak, Active Directory and Active Directory Federation Services (ADFS)
- Dataflow management via NiFi
- McAfee/Trellix ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO), Endpoint Security (ENS), Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Host Intrusion Prevention Sensor (HIPS)
- Tenable Nessus vulnerability management
- Atlassian suite (Confluence, Jira, Bitbucket, Bamboo)
The GRC Officer is expected to operate independently on a day to day basis, providing leadership and advocacy for IT in the delivery and sustainment of the platforms and systems within their scope. They will directly or indirectly influence the following:
- Development and implementation of secure designs for new and existing platforms and systems.
- The identification, management and resolution/mitigation of deficiencies in IT security at the technical or procedural level.
- Delivery of IT security in a manner that best supports the business drivers (including mission and other operational elements) of the organisation, partners and customers.
- The effective coordination and delivery of the various IT security capabilities available, in supporting the delivery and sustainment of relevant platforms and systems.
- Maturation of the GRC capability specifically, as well as the broader IT security capability.
- Effective IT security culture relating to:
- Increased awareness and understanding of the IT security risks associated with activities for Executives, especially Certification and Accreditation/Authorisation Authorities.
- Increased level of trust in the IT security capability across project and sustainment teams. This includes an increased level of security mindfulness in design, delivery and sustainment phases of the system lifecycle.
- Increased level of operational awareness within the IT security teams supporting relevant platforms and systems such that services can be tailored to meet the operating context.
