The roleReporting to the Chief Health Officer, you will provide independent, strategic, consistent, timely and coordinated advice and resolve issues regarding contentious, time critical and confidential matters to ensure business continuity, as required by the Chief Health Officer.
You will undertake and/or direct high-level complex, sensitive and time-critical projects for the Chief Health Officer. You will facilitate strong, effective professional and consultative relationships with senior Departmental officers (corporate and district), Ministerial staff, senior officers from other departments and key external stakeholders.

**Other responsibilities include**:

- overseeing the Executive Services function for the Office of the Chief Health Officer
- leading and managing the divisional correspondence services
- providing strategic leadership in the development, establishment and ongoing monitoring of Office of the Chief Health Officer communications
- playing a key role in developing a high performing team within the Office of the Chief Health Officer
- providing ethical decision making in the achievement of organisational goals of the Office of the Chief Health Officer
- leading the team in the Office of the Chief Health Officer, in accordance with contemporary human resource management practice and principles
- leading continuous improvement and capability development initiatives as appropriate for the Office of the Chief Health Officer to support improved business outcomes.

**The successful personYou will have**:

- Experience in providing sensitive, coordinated, confidential and complex support to Executive Management Leadership teams within large complex public sector organisations.
- Proven exceptional relationship management and stakeholder engagement, including networking with, and successfully influencing senior stakeholders to ensure business goals are met in the context of public and political expectations.
- Robust analytical and problem-solving skills to deliver strategic project advice to stakeholders and executive management.
- Demonstrated focus on issues identification and resolution.
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills including the ability to resolve conflict positively.
- Good leadership and team building skills.
- Excellent communication skills, including written and verbal skills.
