The role The Director provides a pivotal point of contact and oversees the provision and professional management of three Manager level roles to support the delivery of a large scale, complex environment relating to the implementation of VAD framework for Queensland. The primary purpose of the role is to lead and provide direction to the team to prepare for Review Board meetings, and ensuring various secretariat functions, compliance, the Information Management System, reporting and supporting systems are efficiently integrated.
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director, Office of the Voluntary Assisted Dying Review Board will provide timely and accurate advice to the Chairperson of the Review Board and members in relation to reviews of completed cases. You will also manage the flow of information between the Office of the Minister for Health, Queensland Health Executive Management Team and the members of the Review Board for the purposes of critical issues management.
You will, sensitively and effectively, manage the relationship between the Review Board, the Department of Health, and the Minister for Health and Ambulance Services in a way that preserves the independence of the Board and operates to promote public confidence in the provision of VAD. This role is required to ensure consistency of VAD program portfolios and projects through the use of best practice guidelines and Queensland Health's formal program and project management approach, methodologies, techniques, and tools including risk and issue management and change control, to ensure quality project outcomes are delivered efficiently and effectively.
The successful personTo be successful in this role you will have demonstrated ability to provide effective leadership and management at a senior level within a service delivery organisation involving multi-disciplinary teams and diverse work programs. You will also have strategic, analytical, and innovative skills in program planning, management, and delivery, particularly in relation to health-related services or initiatives.
In addition to this, you will have high-level knowledge and understanding of policy development, public sector accountabilities, and government processes, along with the ability to provide high-level policy and briefings. You will also have demonstrated experience in dealing with high-level stakeholders across a range of areas to facilitate problem resolution and delivery of complex health-related services and the ability to develop and form a harmonized approach.
