**About the Role**:
The Quality Consultant Vocational Education and Training (VET) works within the Academic Quality Directorate as a key member of a small team, and is responsible for providing advice and support to the Institute, focusing on elevating academic quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives within VET directorates.

This role will be required to work across multi-Directorates, assisting the Manager Academic Quality and Compliance, to provide a whole of Institute view as to how academic quality and compliance matters are managed. The role will be required to identify and respond to quality improvement opportunities in learning and teaching, developing systemic solutions to implement improvements in practice in academic teams.

**Duties**:

- Drive academic quality and compliance processes for VET and Foundation Directorates, ensuring adherence to legislative and regulatory requirements both onshore and offshore.
- Ensure academic legislative and regulatory compliance within the Academic Operations workforce by reviewing academic governance requirements linked to the development of quality assurance processes.
- Provide SME to the quality assurance review of the Institute's Training and Assessment Strategy prior to course enrolment, curriculum development and validation of data.
- Develop high-level written reports for management and Academic Boards, highlighting risks, opportunities, and persuading and negotiating in relation to Institute objectives.
- Lead the development of an annual internal review cycle and support independent reviews around quality and compliance, acting as an escalation point to mitigate identified issues.
- Manage the response to academic reviews/audits, including the development, monitoring, and reporting of management action plans from review recommendations.

**Skills and Experience Required**:

- A current Working with Children Check (Employee) and National Police Check.
- A Vocational qualification - Certificate IV in Training and Assessment of equivalent, or a diploma or higher-level qualification in adult education.
- Proven experience in quality within VET context, including audits, risk identification and management, and external compliance requirements (AQF, AQTF, ASQA, VRQA, ESOS and DJISR).
- Demonstrated experience in academic quality assurance with proven expertise and current working knowledge of ASQA and the Standards for Registered Training Organisation's 2015.
- Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects in education settings with diverse stakeholders, including the ability to lead groups of staff to solve problems and implement change.
