**The Opportunity**
- We are looking for a Resource Planner to provide resource planning support to the Rail Operations teams to deliver optimised crewing plans that maximise the efficient and safe use of people resources across Rail.
- Working part time with flexibility in work hours and reporting to the Superintendent, Planning & Logistics, your key accountabilities will include:
- Manage all aspects of the Rail Operations crewing roster from publication down to execution.
- Ensure all required changes to flights and accommodation are managed accurately and in line with business deadlines to minimise operational costs.
- Ensure the final roster complies with all rostering principles and fatigue management guidelines.
- Ensure rosters are optimised to maximise the utilisation of resources to deliver the rail plan.
- Provide quality customer service and stakeholder management to a range of stakeholders across the division.
- Work with Operations and other stakeholder teams to implement improvements initiatives.
**What you’ll bring**
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Experience in Operational / Production / Planning & Scheduling functions
- Excellent problem solving, organisational skills and stakeholder management skills
- Self-motivated and have the ability to work independently
- A continuous improvement mindset and ability to offer and implement solutions in dynamic environment
It will also be beneficial if you have:
- Relevant experience in railway logistics
- Experience with Rio Tinto operational systems
- Broader system knowledge of Mine and Port interfaces
- Experience in systems and tools development & analytical capabilities

**Where you’ll be working**
This role is based at our Perth operations centre located at Perth Airport.
Our integrated iron ore network is supported by our Operations Centre (OC) in Perth, a state-of-the-art facility that enables all the autonomous trucks, trains and drills at our mines, ports and rail systems to be operated from a single location. The Centre incorporates visualisation and collaboration tools to provide real-time information across our demand chain and allows us to optimise our mining, maintenance and logistic activities across the Pilbara in a way never before possible.
