**Job Summary**

This role entails owning and be responsible for Mobile Device Technology Roadmap for 2 years plus. This forms the blueprint for technical requirements of future mobile devices that Optus are to range or procure. Up-to-date Knowledge of International Standards, such as those from 3GPP; and aware of Optus Network technology evolution are important factors to prepare the Device Roadmap.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Prepare Optus Mobile Data Device Roadmap for upto 3 years,
- Define the technical specification correspondingly including upcoming new feature requirements
- Prepare and conduct technical testing, in lab and live test sites, on new features to bring them to Production deployment; this at times involved detailed Protocol level debugging.
- Interact with Suppliers and Test House to organize appropriate testing of new device to become officially Optus Approved
- Update test plan regularly to keep up with new technical feature and business product requirements
- Carry out Special Fault investigation on Issues seen in Production deployment, including conducting necessary lab and Live Network testing
- Keep up to date with technical development in the industry including through devices suppliers and Network Equipment suppliers, as well as referencing to Industry Standards such as from 3GPP.
- Collaborate with other teams, such as RAN and Network Core team to formulate detailed designs of new Products/services

**Experience and Qualifications**
- Bachelor of Engineering (Electronic, Telecoms or similar)
- 10 years industry experience
- Experienced in Mobile Products E2E solution including customer Devices
- In-depth knowledge of 4G/5G RRC protocol; protocol analysis allowing fault finding and root cause analysis
- Understanding of global mobile technology trends and developments especially in RAN
- Strong knowledge of 5G NG Core Architectures deployment models including 5G non-Standalone and 5G Standalone Architectures
- Good knowledge of Remote device management frame such as TR069.
