A major T1 iron ore producer, this company has multiple sites across WA. This organisation has strong geology teams which are dynamic and diverse. With relatively low staff turnover, the geology teams are a great place for those starting out their career - get the training and leadership you need to become a gun geologist.
- An opportunity now presents itself for Hydrogeologists to join their Resource Definition teams across various sites in WA. offered on either a 6 or 12 month contract, with chance to extend or go permanent. This is on an 8:6 roster.
- **The job**
Reporting to the senior geologists, you will be responsible for general geology duties within the Res Def team, which will at times focus on Hydrogeological work.
- Typical duties will include:
- Technical rig supervision including production: monitoring and injection bore design
- Hydrogeological logging of drill samples
- Supervision of drilling and pump test contractors on site, including drill pod management
- Undertake filed work (e.g. groundwater sampling, well installations, site reconnaissance, water level measurements, bore census)
- Data interpretation and management including test pump analysis
- Internal and regulatory reporting
- Liaison between mine planning, dewatering teams and other departments on site

**What you'll need**:

- Strong commitment to safety
- A degree or an equivalent tertiary qualification in Hydrogeology or related science
- Relevant applied experience in Hydrogeology preferred
- Exposure or knowledge of relevant hydrogeological software packages such as ArcGIS, Aqtesolv, log plot etc
- Familiarity working with drilling, pump testing and other contractors on site.
- Strong data management and manipulation skills
- Effective communication & time management skills
- Self-motivated with the ability to work constructively within a team
