**Our Opportunity**:
Work Location: Fortescue’s Perth office

Roster: 5:2 Monday to Friday, Perth Based with periodic site work as required.

Role overview:
The scale of water well drilling to support water management at Fortescue is growing. The Water Planning team requires a dedicated hydrogeologist to manage the interface between Water Planning and the Resource Definition Hydrogeologists on site. This role will be based on our West Pilbara Planning area. Specifically, the roles will ensure scopes of work are developed and communicated clearly to the hydrogeologists on site; provide technical support on the scope once handed over; and assist with the coordination of the project close out. This latter aspect will include data management, leapfrog model updates and ensuring drilling outcomes are incorporated into updated conceptualisation.

This role, based in Perth but with regular site trips, would assist in ensuring an optimised outcome for scope delivery.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Develop scope of work documents for drilling and testing to meet scheduled timeframes
- Conduct scope handover meetings with site hydrogeologists and incorporate any feedback into revisions to the scope of works
- Assist with any technical queries during drilling and testing process
- Ensure agreed scope deliverables are supplied in a timely manner and incorporated into relevant database systems and analysis tools
- Ensure planning hydrogeologists are informed about any drilling outcomes that influence conceptual or modelling outcomes
- Provide assistance to other water planning activities as required

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- A degree or an equivalent tertiary qualification in Engineering Geology, Hydrogeology or Geosciences, MSc in Hydrogeology is strongly preferred
- Experience in water drilling is advantageous
- Knowledge of hydrogeological software packages
- Strong data management and manipulation skills
- Effective communication & time management skills
- Strong team skills and a willingness to conduct some fly-in/fly-out work
