**About the role**
Our Resource Development division provides support to and sustains our Pilbara iron ore operations through the delivery of orebody knowledge that ensures resources are developed in time, future value opportunities are identified and developed, and that tenure remains secure. The Water Resource Evaluation team is responsible for providing the technical advice and direction necessary to mitigate the 5 to 10 years plan water-related risks across our Pilbara operations, from concept to feasibility studies, implementation, and closure.
A unique new opportunity now exists for a suitably qualified and experienced **Hydrogeologist **to join our **Water Resource Evaluation (WRE) Department.** You will be a central member to our Hydrogeology Team. Working a Perth based 5 days on, 2 off roster, you will:
- Support the delivery of the 10 years water management plan by risk-assessing the impact of changes to mine plans on groundwater management strategies;
- Develop and test hydrogeological conceptualisations in greenfields and brownfields settings to support mine dewatering, water supply and environmental impact assessments and input into multi discipline teams for delivery of ore body knowledge;
- Plan, implement, track and report on field/drilling work programmes;
- Provide technical and safety oversight of hydrogeological field programmes;
- Analyse hydrogeological data, provide conceptual input to models and process;
- Write and provide input into technical reports;
- Compile compliance reporting;
- Provide technical and safety oversight of hydrogeological field programmes; and
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders including our contract drilling partners.
**What you’ll bring**
- A minimum bachelor’s degree in a relevant Hydrogeology or Geosciences field;
- Be highly attuned to issues of hydrogeological data capture, quality control and information workflow;
- Previous experience in Consulting and/or Operational Mining environments will be considered favourably;
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work within a dynamic team environment;
- Commitment to health and safety, and promoting a positive team behaviour / supportive culture;
- Unrestricted ‘C’ Class Driver’s Licence.
