**_Job Summary:_**
The Site Maintenance Fitter is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repairs of all processing and packaging machineries and processing related machinery within the site.

This role also involves overseeing and maintaining areas including, but not limited to perimeter security, building, office, canteen. All work needs to be conducted safely and promptly.

This role also includes preventative maintenance on machines and managing process improvement projects for different process and equipment throughout the department.

**_Key Duties:_**

**Mechanical Breakdowns**:

- Fitters repair processing equipment which is broken down.
- Operators are trained to determine if the breakdown is mechanical or electrical.
- The maintenance team will then explore/find the fault/issue and rectify the issue/s as quick as possible while also maintaining machine safety and operation.

**Preventive Maintenance**:

- To minimise breakdowns a preventive maintenance (PM) plan is in place for all machinery.
- All maintenance team members are responsible for manage their time to be able to complete PM jobs.

**Parts Ordering**:

- It is the responsibility of all mechanics to have knowledge of the ordering process.
- This includes knowing what parts are required for specific jobs and if needed knowing how to order the required parts.
- GMP and cleanliness of workshop and work areas:

- All work areas and maintenance workshop are required to comply with GMP rules.
- This includes ensuring the workshop is maintained in a neat and safe environment, and that a daily metal sweep is completed by one staff. Worksites need to be cleaned as work is being done and then completely cleaned after work is done, this includes running the site over with a rare earth magnet.

**Contractor / Supplier Management**
- Contractor management - including inductions as required.
- Manage, organise and plan service work with contractors/suppliers.
- Following up of service reports and service queries.
- Maintenance and implementation of relevant supplier agreements as required.

**_Qualification / Education / Training:_**
- Completion of induction [HACCP Training and GMP, Code of Conduct, OHS and Emergency procedures]
- Experience in a maintenance environment within high volume manufacturing for a minimum of 3 years
- Understanding and well-rounded knowledge of mechanical equipment, machines and processes
- English (reading and writing) proficiency to year 10

**_Knowledge / Skills / Attributes_**
- No restrictions to lift, bend, stand and twist
- An understanding of the food manufacturing process
