About us
The Magistrates' Court of Victoria (MCV) is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority, and has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria in metropolitan and regional courts across the state.
The Court determines in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues, equating to approximately 90 per cent of all cases that come before Victorian courts each year. The Court aims to be an innovative, accessible and responsive court that provides quality services to the Victorian community.
The Victims of Crime Assistance Tribunal (VOCAT) within MCV provides financial assistance to victims of crime committed in Victoria. VOCAT aims to assist victims of crime in their recovery by providing an accessible and empathetic service for those who require financial support.
About the role
The Registry Manager, Tribunal Officer List (TOL), works collaboratively with the Senior Tribunal Officer, is responsible for daily operational tasks including the management of staff, and has a team of direct reports.
This role has significant technical components as well as team leadership and people-management components and, therefore, requires someone who has both an understanding of the Tribunal's protocols and procedures and leadership qualities.
The position operates within a complex, demanding and sensitive environment that requires the capacity to exercise sound judgement, liaise effectively with the Judiciary, senior officers of the courts and government departments and build relationships with key stakeholders.
About you
You are a supportive people leader who has experience in VOCAT or relevant legal qualifications. You motivate junior staff to work efficiently and with sensitivity towards victims.
