About the role

The shift to a focus on corporate environmental, social and governance (ESG) performance is fundamental and permanent. To help meet the ESG expectations of our investors, customers and external stakeholders, and support our strategy and purpose, we have established a purpose-built function. ESG Disclosure & Reporting is one of the pillars of this function, alongside Governance, Analytics & Advisory, and Social Impact & Community.

You will monitor, review and manage forthcoming climate, biodiversity/ nature-related and ESG regulatory and voluntary reporting developments. The work undertaken in this role takes place against the background of increasingly high levels of social, government, investor and customer scrutiny of the bank’s ESG policies.

What could your day look like?

**Key priorities and responsibilities include**:
Monitoring evolving climate and biodiversity/nature-related and ESG regulatory and voluntary reporting frameworks and the impact on ANZ Group
Management of feedback for submissions by ANZ, the Australian Banking Association and other industry associations to government on climate, biodiversity/nature-related and ESG reporting consultations, including liaising with broader ESG Team, Risk, Finance, Legal and business units to ensure a group view is obtained
Coordination of ESG Group submissions to regulators, working closely with Risk
Advisory responsibilities to senior management on the above matters
Supporting ANZ’s external climate-related disclosures as required
Supporting ESG indices and ratings focused on climate change or biodiversity/nature-related topics as required
Monitoring ESG developments to identify relevant issues for ANZ
This role will work closely with our Manager Climate Disclosure and Reporting and Manager ESG Disclosure and Reporting roles.
What will you bring?

Record of achievement in a similar role, with experience with climate reporting with an ASX listed organisation
Strong relationship skills to engage internal stakeholders and external stakeholders in group-wide climate performance reporting
Expert understanding of relevant climate reporting and evolving biodiversity/nature-related standards and frameworks
Excellent analytical, written and communication skills, including the ability to understand and simplify complex matters involving different areas
Excellent understanding of financial services and its operating environment
Excellent and effective management skills, the ability to prioritise tasks and to work under pressure within various constraints
Proactive thinker, able to anticipate and identify emerging ESG trends which may become more important for the bank.

Tertiary qualification with expertise in policy areas affecting banking, business and financial services.
