**About the role**:
This is an exciting opportunity to progress your career and obtain experience working in the Courts and Prosecution Services Division (CPSD) of the Victoria Police Legal Services Department (LSD). Our vision is to be a centre of prosecutorial and legal excellence, with people who are recognised as being fair, just, and valued partners in the Victorian justice system.

Victoria Police's LSD provides legal services and advice to support policing, courts, and the Victorian Community. The LSD is led by an Executive Director (who is also the organisation's General Counsel) and employs over 800 staff spread across four divisions - the Office of the Executive Director; the Specialist Legal and Litigation Division; the CPSD; and the Legal Business Operations Division.

This is an exciting opportunity to obtain valuable experience working in the Legal Services Department at Victoria Police within the Prosecution Support Branch, Tasking & Coordination Unit.

Victoria Police is seeking to fill this position with an enthusiastic, diligent, and skilled Administrative Support Officer to undertake a range of administrative duties and assist the Tasking & Coordination Unit Manager. As the successful applicant, you will have excellent organisational and time management skills, the ability to work effectively under pressure and proficient stakeholder engagement.

The primary function of this role is to perform administrative duties in support of the prosecution referral process and Tasking & Coordination Committee, who's function is to determine when the prosecution of matters should be moved to a specialist unit or external legal counsel. Duties will include the receipt of electronic referrals, preparation of agendas and taking minutes for committee meetings, electronic file movement and maintaining internal file management systems.

The successful incumbent will work in an office environment within a small team, directly reporting to the Tasking & Coordination Unit Manager, however, as the unit supports all three divisional branches they will be required to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders using their excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build and maintain positive relationships and uphold the strong reputation of the Courts & Prosecution Services Division.

Victoria Police is a contemporary and agile workplace and supports flexible working arrangements.

**Your duties will include**:

- Appropriately managing and directing enquiries.
- Compiling the agenda and taking minutes for the Tasking & Coordination Committee.
- Maintaining internal file management systems on SharePoint.
- Preparation of briefing documents for external counsel.
- Filing, ordering, and general office administrative tasks.
- Creating folders and uploading briefs to SharePoint.
- Undertaking other duties as required by line managers.

**As the successful applicant, you will have**:

- The ability to work well within a small team environment and autonomously.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- The ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Experience in Microsoft Office programs and the ability to develop skills in Victoria Police programs.
- A proven record of ethical behaviour and a demonstrated commitment to the Victoria Police code of Ethics and Organisational Values.

**Requirements and relevant information**:

- One (1) x full-time, ongoing position available.
- This position is located at Melbourne Prosecutions, 456 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne.
- Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident or hold a valid work permit or visa.
- The successful applicant will be required to undergo pre-employment checks which may include fingerprint checks and misconduct screening.
- As a member of the Legal Services Department, you will be located, on selection, at a specific office within a Division for a particular advertised opportunity. However, given occasional legal service demand issues you may be required at times to undertake varied work within the Department. This supports the Departments commitment to a flexible and deployable legal workforce and professional development opportunities in a range of legal domains.
- **Resume**:
**Applications close midnight, 11 November 2024**
