**About the Role**
An exciting opportunity presents itself for an enthusiastic and compassionate individual to join our Career Support team. As a people-centric person with a natural flair for mentoring, negotiating and mediating, you will use your skills to provide In-Training Support and recruitment support for Women in Non-Traditional Trades, where no two days are alike.

As a Women in Trade Support Officer, you will work within a fast-paced team of dedicated individuals to provide over the phone mentoring targeted to current Australian Apprentices working in trades recognised as Women in Non-Traditional Trades (WNTT), or students or job seekers seeking opportunities in WNTT.

In this role you will be required to:

- Provide phone and online mentoring support to clients to address issues arising throughout the training contract.
- Provide pro-active, pastoral care support for 'at risk' clients to identify complex issues early.
- Ensure databases are maintained accurately, compliantly and in a timely manner.
- Provide job seekers with basic recruitment support service, aiming to assist the job seeker to find employment.
- Promote and increase the participation of the Job Seeker Register for job seekers and employers.
- Undertake assessments of Job Seekers to determine Apprenticeship readiness.
- Liaise with employers to increase the number of jobs advertised on ASA jobs boards and engagement with job seekers registered on the Job Seeker Register.
- Educate job seekers on tactics to improve their own job search.
- Provide a job matching service that links prospective employees (typically prospective Apprentices or Trainees) with employers with open vacancies.

This is a
**full time, Maximum Term Contract **ending 30 June 2024 and is available for immediate commencement.

**About you**
To be successful in this role, you will possess:

- Strong understanding/knowledge of apprenticeships and traineeships
- Able to provide Apprentices with sound guidance in managing their employment matters
- Strong knowledge of employment matters and how to manage them;
- Knowledge of Recruitment Processes;
- Understanding of the issues faced by women in non-traditional trades and/or male dominated work environments.
- Able to provide Apprentices with sound guidance in job seeking skills;
- Excellent customer service skills;
- Excellent communication skills - oral and written
- Knowledge and understanding of the Apprenticeship and Traineeship system (desired)

If successful in obtaining the position, you will also need to have or be willing to obtain:

- National Police Clearance
- Working with Children Check
- Drivers Licence
