**About the Role**
The Mentor, Women in Trade role is based in Perth with the intention to support the engagement and completion of women interested in or currently engaged in non-traditional trades. This role will focus on establishing support networks and connect clients to existing industry networks and services to ensure women have access to women led support organisations leading change in industry. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Undertake Environment Scan(s) to identify industry networking opportunities and risk assessments of clients to identify issues early.
- Provide intensive mentoring support, as identified and referred by Mentoring Team.
- Create a network of services to support, develop and inspire women into non-traditional trades and/or into career options and further training post-qualification.
- Assist job seekers to identify career pathway opportunities for women into non-traditional trades.
- Provide support and guidance to employers of women in non-traditional trades to assist in identifying and addressing barriers to entry and completion.
- Monitoring network activity to identify risk areas and/or target individuals requiring additional assistance.

This is a
**full time, Maximum Term Contract **ending 30 June 2024 and is available for immediate commencement.

**About you**
To be successful in this role, you will possess:

- A minimum of 12 months relevant experience working with young people or proven relevant experience.
- Must be able to provide Apprentices with sound guidance - drawing from life experience, workplace knowledge, values and academic achievement
- Understanding of career progression opportunities beyond trade qualification
- Understanding of the issues faced by women in non-traditional trades and/or male dominated work environments.
- Excellent customer service skills
- Knowledge and understanding of the Apprenticeship and Traineeship system (desired)

If successful in obtaining the position, you will also need to have or be willing to obtain:

- Current Valid Driver’s Licence
- National Police Clearance
- Working with Children Check
