Canberra, Australia UM for Ministerial and Parliamentary Services Full time

The Office is seeking a person with strong administrative, organisational and communication skills, preferably with experience as a political staffer or in other related positions. The ideal applicant will be passionate about progressive politics with the desire to make a positive difference in the community. The role may be offered in a part-time capacity for the right applicant.

**The key duties of the position are, but are not limited to**:

- Supporting constituents with requests for information and assistance relating to federal government programs, offices, and departments.
- Organising, supporting, and attending community and electorate activities and meetings.
- Assisting with campaigning activities.
- Electorate office duties such as answering incoming calls, drafting correspondence, meeting with constituents, and administrative tasks, including data entry.
- Other duties as required.

**The ideal applicant should possess the following skills, qualifications, and experience**:

- Strong communication, administrative, interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills with high attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and time management skills in a fast-paced work environment.
- Sound knowledge of the political landscape and the Australian parliamentary and political processes.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, showing initiative and problem-solving skills.

**Employment conditions**:
The position is offered under the Members of Parliament (Staff) Act 1984and conditions are outlined in the Commonwealth Members of Parliament Staff Enterprise Agreement 2020-23which include:

- A commencing salary between $69,046 and $73,098will be negotiated depending on experience and relevant skills
- An additional optional allowance may be considered in recognition of, and as compensation for, reasonable additional hours of work
- An employer superannuation contribution of 15.4% will be payable

The successful applicant may be required to undergo a National Police History Check.
