Ability Action Australia are growing We're building a new multidisciplinary team based in the ACT and welcome an experienced Behaviour Support Practioner with current Advanced or Specialist suitability - confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission - to make a meaningful and rewarding impact for NDIS participants living in the ACT and surrounding regional locations.

Responsibilities will include:

- Assisting NDIS participants, along with their families and/or carers, to identify their needs through assessment and person-centred planning
- Evaluating, developing and delivering evidence-based support plans within a complex support space
- Developing meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising a positive behaviour support framework, and with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices, in the home and community
- Ensuring individual plans reflect our NDIS participants' goals, passions and strengths, as well as ensuring they get more out of life
- Building the knowledge, capacity and strengths of those who support participants in their lives - family, carers, friends, etc
- Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including mentoring less experienced positive behaviour support (PBS) practitioners in the team
- Acting as an advocate and role model for best practice

**Qualifications**:
To be considered suitable you will have:

- Current suitability - confirmed by the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission - at the Advanced or Specialist level as a Behaviour Support Practitoner
- Completed a degree level qualification as an allied health professional
- Report writing experience
- Excellent time management and organisational skills to manage a varied caseload
- Proactive attitude, motivated by improvement and the opportunity to test and learn from new ideas
- Genuine passion for working in the disability sector

To be successful in this role, you will be solution focused, highly organised and possess exceptional people skills. You will be passionate about what you do and pride yourself on delivering exceptional customer service.
