The position
The school is seeking a dedicated and passionate tutor to provide students a supportive and caring space to
complete their schoolwork and get a head start on their assessment tasks. This would suit a new graduate,
university student or a retired teacher. Duties include but are not limited to:
- assisting students in developing: efficient homework patterns, effective revision plans, time management
and organisational skills
- provide close supervision and monitoring of students during study sessions, ensuring appropriate
standards of behaviour and productive use of time
- helping students to become independent thinkers and learners by providing contextual hints at various
learning levels to assist students in moving past barriers
- answering questions about set homework and helping students understand specific concepts
- assisting students with tasks while maintaining the academic integrity of the students’ work
- assisting students in their approach to managing multiple assessment tasks, ensuring they have a plan
- to complete these in a timely manner
- monitoring students’ engagement with their academic work
- reporting any concerns about a student’s behaviour or approach during the study session to the
Coordinator of the Evening Study Program
