**THE WHO**:
This engineering house specialise in
**project**
**estimating** ,
**quantity surveying** ,
**planning**, and
**risk**
**analysis** for major road, rail, power, and civil infrastructure across Australia. Due to growth in the business and market, they are looking for an Associate Director of Rail to join their Brisbane-based team. Consulting client side, you'll have the unique opportunity to work on the
**biggest**
**rail**
**infrastructure**
**projects** in the
**country**.

**THE WHAT**:
As a Rail Associate Director, your core focus will be to provide quantity surveying and estimation advice in
**rail signals** and
**track**
**systems**, including associated
**power** ,
**communication**, and
**control systems**. The role will be looking at both metro and freight rail systems around Australia.
Further, you will be:

- Project managing assigned rail projects
- Leading client management and business development
- Developing and supporting the generation of estimates from first principles using Expert Estimation
- Ensuring commercial agreements are set up correctly
- Managing and mentoring a small team of quantity surveyors (and other staff, project dependent)

**THE THINGS WE NEED**:

- Proven capability working within estimation, quantity surveying, or cost management across rail signalling and track systems in Australia.
- Approximately 15+ years of experience working for a contractor, consultancy, and client-side within rail.
- Experience in business development and client engagement - the business are looking to further entrench themselves in this sector, so someone with existing relationships or memberships would be looked upon favourably.

However, it's not just about technical expertise - we're looking for someone who's a good egg and adds value to the business. They are a high-performing team (and when we talk about their portfolio of projects, you’ll understand why), but they are also very deliberate when making hires to ensure their culture is maintained.
