Parramatta, Australia National Heavy Vehicle Regulator Full time

Some of the key responsibilities include:

- Drive the development, amendment, and management of Codes of Practice as they relate to the heavy vehicle industry, as well as other documents, systems and processes in order to promote heavy vehicle industry safety, and productivity in Australia.
- Develop, implement, and maintain educational and policy advice products that encourage a better understanding of the chain of responsibility and safety duty and/or support safer business practices by the heavy vehicle industry.
- Provide authoritative advice to the Manager and Director on issues relating to the Safety Duty and Chain of Responsibility and any issues that may impact the delivery of NHVRs strategic objectives nationally.
- Contribute to the development and review of complex reports, briefing notes, submissions and prepare and deliver presentations in accordance with NHVR standards.

- Strong project coordination and organisational skills.
- Ability to develop productive relationships and work collaboratively with others.
- Enthusiasm with an eagerness to learn.
- Capable of working in fast-paced environments and meeting strict deadlines.

The role has a number of projects on the go at any one point in time, and requires high level problem-solving skills, creativity, perseverance, as well as solid planning, time management and prioritisation skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, particularly in relation to policy development and implementation. You will need to be able to build rapport and develop strong stakeholder relationships across multiple sources, take end-to-end responsibility for a body of work, and manage expectations and deliverables. You will need to leverage these relationships to seek the appropriate advice and information required to inform your decisions, as well as negotiate outcomes and overcome challenges.

You’ll be great in this role if you have at least 3 - 5 years of demonstrated experience in a similar role. Qualifications in law or WHS may be beneficial but not mandatory.
