**ABOUT THE PARLIAMENTARY, GOVERNANCE AND STRATEGY BRANCH**

The Parliamentary, Governance and Strategy Branch provides advice and support to our ministers, the department and portfolio entities to fulfil their responsibilities to the Parliament. The Branch prepares Finance’s corporate plan and annual report and manages projects under Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) funded Official Development Assistance (ODA) programs.

The International Section supports Finance’s interests internationally through engaging and providing working-level technical assistance information exchanges, and negotiation of agreements and arrangements. The section is responsible for the implementation of capacity building projects, consistent with the Government’s international policy objectives, in Indonesia, Papua New Guinea and the Pacific under the ODA program managed by DFAT. This involves significant stakeholder engagement with DFAT, other Commonwealth agencies and as well as our international counterparts.

**ABOUT THE** OPPORTUNITY**

The Program Manager and the Assistant Program Manager provide support in advancing the international engagement activities of the Department of Finance. They are responsible for working as a member of a small team, under Director level leadership, tasked with managing the delivery of Finance’s Official Development Assistance (ODA) funded capacity building programs.

Under broad supervision, the Program Manager and Assistant Program Manager:

- Are members of a small team with responsibility for successfully implementing a program of coordinated capacity building activities with a foreign partner organisation(s);
- Have varying levels of responsibility for managing and coordinating all the necessary tasks required to ensure individual programs are successfully implemented. This includes logístical aspects and preparation of relevant briefing material;
- Are responsible for ensuring all activities are undertaken in a timely, efficient and effective manner;
- Effectively engage with stakeholders, both within Australian Government agencies and foreign counterpart organisations;
- Assist with the preparation of program work plans and evaluation reports for consideration by senior executives prior to submission to DFAT;
- Work with other International section members to ensure there is a coordinated and consistent approach to Finance’s development assistance program plans and activities, and international engagement more broadly.

The positions may involve both international and domestic travel.
