**Postdoctoral Fellow - NDARC**
- Employment Type: Full time (35 hour week)
- Duration: fixed term contract to 30 Jun 2025
- Remuneration: Level A/B (dependent on experience) $85,305 - $140,802 + 17% Super and leave loading

**Why Your Role Matters**:
As a Postdoctoral Research Fellow, you will play a key role at the National Drug and Alcohol Research Centre (NDARC), supporting our research leaders across a range of projects. In addition it is anticipated that you will define and pursue your own line of research in alignment with the National Drug Strategy and NDARC research workplan areas:

- Epidemiology and emerging trends
- Mental and physical comorbidities
- Prevention and early intervention
- Treatment and harm reduction
- Drug policy
- Criminal justice system
- Priority populations:

- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people
- People with mental health conditions
- Young people
- Older people
- People in contact with the criminal justice system
- Culturally and linguistically diverse populations
- Women, children, and families.
- People identifying as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and/or intersex.

The role of Postdoctoral Research Fellow reports to the Senior Research Leader and has no direct reports.

**Who You Are**:
Level A:

- Completed (or soon to be completed) PhD in a relevant discipline, including public health, epidemiology, social science, biostatistics, or health economics and/or an equivalent level of knowledge gained through any other combination of education, training and/or and experience.
- Relevant experience and applied knowledge in a health/medical field
- Demonstrated experience in methodologically rigorous data collection and/or data analyses.
- Demonstrated high level communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team.
- Evidence of research activity in at least one of NDARC’s core workplan areas

Level B (in addition to the above):

- Demonstrated capacity to carry out independent research as indicated by a proven track record of writing manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
