**About the team**

The Centre for Offshore Foundation Systems hosts the National Geotechnical Centrifuge Facility (NGCF), a world leading geotechnical centrifuge modelling facility that undertakes state-of-the art physical modelling of complex geotechnical problems to address key challenges in offshore geotechnical engineering The NGCF operates three centrifuges in its laboratory in the Indian Ocean Marine Research Centre: a 10 m diameter beam centrifuge, a 3.6 m diameter beam centrifuge and a 1.2 m drum centrifuge. These centrifuges spin 24/7 around 270 days of the year, working to provide answers to challenging geotechnical engineering problems facing the offshore energy industries.

**About the opportunity**

As the appointee you will, under general direction, prepare experiments for each centrifuge, and operate and maintain the centrifuges and the associated equipment. You will work together with the existing centrifuge operators and within a larger technical support team.

To be considered for this role, you will demonstrate:

- Trade or technical qualifications or diploma in a related field such as electronics, mechatronics, mechanical engineering or demonstrated equivalent competency
- Substantial relevant experience in a technical role or related field
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated commitment to understand and adopt technological developments in the workplace
- Willingness to learn new cutting edge technology
- Excellent manual skills with attention to detail
