**About this opportunity**

You will complete a Certificate II Water Operations Traineeship over 12 months through a combination of formal training with a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) and practical on-the-job experience with your Host Employer, Shoalhaven City Council.

Throughout your formal training and practical experience in the workplace, you will have the opportunity to:

- Monitor and maintain operations in Water Treatment Plants
- Provide support in a range of water construction work and maintenance
- Process, monitor and test plant equipment calibrations
- Conduct water testing, record results and take required action
- Perform maintenance tasks such as mowing, weed-spraying, painting and the installing or instillation of pipe work
- Use a variety of equipment and tools to carry out duties such as ride-on mowers, and both hand and power tools

To be successful in this role, you'll need to possess the following capabilities and knowledge:

- Ability to work as part of a team
- A can-do attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work safely and follow instructions
- Ability to commence in January 2023
- Commitment to full term of the traineeship and study requirements
- Demonstrate willingness to learn and develop new skills and knowledge
- Ongoing commitment to safety, quality and principles of continuous improvement
- Manual Drivers Licence (P1 or above)
- Completion of High School Certificate (HSC), or equivalent
- WHS Construction Induction (White Card)
