This is a
**2 Year**,
**fixed term, full-time** position working
**38 hours** per week (Monday to Friday, 7.00am to 4.00pm) and will be based at
**Bomaderry Works Depot.**
**Duties**
Reporting directly to the Team Supervisor - Central Maintenance, the focus of this position is to:
- To operate major plant items to undertake maintenance and / or minor construction activities.
- Support and lead staff in the day-to-day operations of the Works & Services department.
- Ensure the work area’s compliance with relevant legislation and Council policies and ensure that risks are managed.
- Assist in Council responses to emergencies and other operational needs, including being available for ‘call back’
On call - Being available to be on-call and complete reasonable overtime is a requirement of this position.
**Skills & Experience**
In order to be successful in the position, you will be/ possess:
- School Certificate or equivalent
- Mminimum of two (2) years’ experience in operating major plant such as backhoe, dozer / compactor, excavator, front end loader, tractor, grader, street sweeper, water tanker, garbage compactor or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience in civil construction and/or maintenance activities.
- Current RMS Issued Traffic Control or SafeWork NSW Traffic Control Work Training Cards - ‘Traffic controller’ and ‘Implement traffic control plans’ or willingness to obtain
- Current National WHS Construction Card (WorkCover)
- Class HR Licence
- Proof of Australian residency or citizenship.
